Lebkuchen Schmidt Advent Calendar "Sendung mit der Maus" 2024

For 23 days leading up to Christmas, the Lebkuchen Schmidt Advent Calendar is the perfect way to reminisce the holidays. Boasting two sides full of festive treats from the bakery, behind each of the 24 doors lies an individually wrapped Lebkuchen specialty or biscuit.

This year's calendar features images from Die "Sendung mit der Maus" which is a children's show in Germany that has been popular for many years.

Advent calendars have been around since the late 1800s, with 24 pictures being hung one-by-one. In the 1920s, little doors to open became commonplace - initially containing small pictures. However, in the 1930s Advent calendars containing chocolates and biscuits gained traction. Nowadays, there are calendars with various fillings - the Lebkuchen Schmidt creation being the most delicious!
