Lebkuchen Schmidt
Lebkuchen Schmidt "VERMEER" Art Chest 2025
Considered one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age, Johannes Vermeer was born in Delft, Netherlands, in October 1632. The son of an innkeeper and art dealer, Vermeer grew up surrounded by painting and trade. He became a master of the Delft Guild of Saint Luke in 1653 and began producing his now-famous domestic interior scenes, celebrated for their luminous use of light and meticulous detail. Works such as Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Milkmaid capture intimate, everyday moments with remarkable realism and serenity. Vermeer painted only about 35 works in his lifetime, yet his artistry has influenced generations.
