Lebkuchen Schmidt Zimsterne with 30% Less Sugar

First: we're glad to have owners who care! We bought our first at the factory store in Nürnberg (hometown of a family member) in 1980, and Schmidt is an annual Christmas "must". This year's order from European Deli actually arrived ahead of the promised delivery date, and our neighbors from India, China, and Viet Nam now love Lebkuchen, too.
One slight disappointment: we have a surfeit of lovely large chests, so I purchased two of the large gift boxes, assuming that there would actually be a gift box, though my "chat" inquiries were inconclusive. Alas, inside the sealed Schmidt shipping cartons there were no gift boxes–just the various packages. I re-taped the one I'd opened and wrapped both shipping boxes, and after gift opening provided shopping bags to carry the treats away so the travelers would not have to be carting a shipping box back home that they would need to dispose of. It will be back to the chests next year!

Very soft and sweet with the 30% less sugar.

This was the 1st time I tried Zimtsterne with 30% less sugar....they taste just as good as the regular ones. Not really a surprise, as I have bought Lebkuchen Schmidt's products for decades!
