Marketa Macudova Gingerbread Creations

Gingerbread is quintessential Christmas treat. So, what could be better than an elaborate, delicious cake, whose scents of spices transport you, to make the material of marvelous artistic creations.

The artist, Marketa Macudova, from Moravia, inherited from her grandmothers an extraordinary art form of drawing and coloring the most subtle and varied shapes with icing sugar. A tradition that the Czech Republic shares with Alsace, her adopted country.  Each piece of gingerbread is hand decorated with precision. A perfect treat to add to a gift bag or as a package topper.

The artisanal work is so very special and compared to none. But, very often, those who bought the artists creations, remarked to her: “They are so fine, so delicate, so expressive that we prefer to keep them to look at them rather than eat them”.

Faced with such a dilemma, she wondered for a long time to give them a logical answer. But today, she can finally offer them this solution, which seems to be the best:  "Buy 'Em Double" And that will be the end of your questions. Good tasting for the eyes and the palate.
