Herring on the tables at holidays such as Midsummer, Christmas and Easter is, to say the least, a matter of course in Sweden. Taste and tradition are of course the biggest reasons, but the fact that herring is also very healthy and naturally rich in Omega-3 is not something that many snap songs are about. The health aspect together with how incredibly easy a herring dinner is to prepare makes it also a hard-to-beat lunch or dinner, even if no Christmas tree is to be dressed, eggs are painted or little frogs are funny to see. Regardless of whether you choose pickled herring or buy ready-to-pickle to put your own stamp on the delicious fish, it is suitable for all occasions, not just holidays. At Abba, they store our herring in our rock room in Kungshamn, just a stone's throw from the sparkling sea before it is ready to be served.

Herring in dill marinade is a genuine and wholesome delicacy that is produced according to Swedish standards and traditions. Enjoy on a piece of crispbread, as an exciting starter or served as is on a buffet table. 

Abba takes fresh fish from the sea and puts it into barrels and then marinates the old-fashioned way.  The barrels are stored like the finest of wines - in the dark and at a precise temperature. The herring is then cut into appetizing pieces with that perfectly preserved resistance in each bite.
